Tootsie’s, established in 1960, stands as the oldest bar on the strip, proudly adorned in its signature “orchid” purple since day one. Impossible to overlook on Broadway, this iconic establishment exudes historical charm while offering a vibrant atmosphere for modern visitors.

Over the decades, Tootsie’s has played host to countless legendary singers and songwriters, with many launching their careers within its walls, including the illustrious Willie Nelson. A pilgrimage to Nashville isn’t complete without a visit to Tootsie’s; it’s a quintessential Nashville landmark. This isn’t just any bar – it’s a haven for line dancing aficionados. The expansive dance floor beckons all to join in the rhythmic revelry, while hourly instructional sessions led by spirited instructors elevate the experience. From novices to seasoned dancers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Recently, I hosted family members visiting for a baby shower, many of whom had never experienced Nashville. Eager to provide an authentic Nashville adventure, we made a beeline for Wildhorse Saloon to learn the art of line dancing. Even at 32 weeks pregnant, I found myself gleefully kicking up my boots on the dance floor, relishing the inclusive and invigorating atmosphere. From ages 13 to 76, everyone in our group reveled in the joyous camaraderie, solidifying Wildhorse Saloon as a must-visit destination on Broadway and a standout among Nashville’s finest bars.

UPDATE:

Sadly, the bar was bought out recently by Luke Combs and they will be transforming the space in the next few months. They say that the bar will remain open throughout much of the renovations, but from my understanding the line dancing will be gone or will at least not be the main focus. The plans seem really cool, read more about the new updates if you’re interested. But if you visit before the changes begin in early 2024, be sure to hit up Wildhorse before it’s gone.

Spanning three stories, each floor offers a distinct atmosphere. The ground level hosts the honky tonk area, featuring live country music performances, inviting tables, a well-stocked bar, and delectable cuisine—a refined take on the classic honky tonk experience.

However, it’s the uppermost level that truly dazzles. Upon entry, guests are greeted by a spacious room adorned with plush red velvet chairs and flickering candles—an enchanting jazz club awaits. Adjacent to this is the Supper Club, an elegant gourmet restaurant, and a rooftop bar adorned with neon lights and a resident DJ.

Ascend to the second floor and find yourself amidst a sushi bar. Despite its seemingly unconventional pairing, the sushi offerings are nothing short of exceptional. Personally, I find their fried rolls particularly delightful.

Let me start by telling you about the decor—everything is decked out in hot pink. It’s a paradise for girly-girls, and I absolutely love it. Planning a bachelorette party? Look no further, this is the ultimate spot.

The first floor and rooftop are what you’d expect from a bar on Broadway—great vibes and live music. But it’s the second floor that really steals the show. Can you believe there are celebrity-owned bars in Nashville on Broadway that serve exceptional food? Well, Casa Rosa is one of them. The restaurant on the second floor offers Tex-Mex + Cantina cuisine, and let me tell you, the food is downright delicious.

Now, I’m not claiming it’s the most authentic Mexican cuisine out there, but for Tex-Mex, it’s top-notch. During a recent visit with a large group for lunch, they seated us promptly, and everyone raved about their meals and drinks. It was an unforgettable experience, and I make it a point to return whenever I’m on the strip.
